Feline Familiars

Mission Statement

To support the work of brick and mortar no-kill cat shelters through donations made possible via the adoption of virtual familiars.

The Inspiration

The inspiration for Feline Familiars was our own cat Ignats who recently passed away after exhaustive tests to determine why he had stopped eating and drinking. No cause was ever found and we made the difficult choice to put Iggy to sleep in January 2009.

After his passing, we took his prescription food to a local no-kill shelter and I got to talking to the director who explained that the medicine for the shelter's sick and older cats, who would probably never find homes, cost the shelter over $700 per month!

That doesn't include anything else, just medicine!

The shelter, like most, survives on private donations alone.

We knew we had to do something and thought that the pagan community at large might like a way to help without breaking the bank and so Feline Familiars was born.

What's the Deal?

Please browse the Familiars Gallery and choose a familiar. In exchange for a $1 donation, you will be provided with the code to display your familiar on your website. Specialty images are also available for those who wish to give a little more.

We will also ask you for your website's url so we can add your link to our Sponsors list to help other caring folks find your site.

One Dollar?

It doesn't sound like much, but when your dollar is added to mine, hers, his and theirs it quickly balloons without breaking each of our wallets.

Think of one dollar as a raindrop, when enough raindrops fall into a bucket, the bucket overflows.

When the Feline Familiars account reaches $25, we'll send that money along to a brick and mortar, no-kill cat shelter.

Where ever you go, I'll bring you home

Trusting Us

I know there are a lot of scams out there and that makes it tough to trust a website, so I have determined to make all our donations transparent.

Receipts for all donations will be posted on the site, including the receipt for our kick off donation of $200 to Cat Welfare.
